Kim and The Created at Lolipop Records Show

Reigning all the way from from Echo Park Calif., dark, fuzzy, surf rock quartet, Kim and The Created,  put on a most excellent show this past week as they made a stop in San Antonio before heading off to Austin for South by Southwest with their Lolipop Records crew.
Maybe it was the gold skin tight leotard, the smeared orange lipstick or the fact that she jumped off stage and circled the crowd on her knees, but I could not seem to take my eyes off of Kim.
Although the crowd was limited, the energy was high. The minute I stepped into the venue I immediately took out my camera and snapped a few photos. I didn't want to miss a second of their set.

Their sound is dark and bouncy, and Kim's vocals are deep and strong. It kind of reminds me of walking through a fun house. You know it's going to be cool because the outside is fun and colorful but as you slowly make your way through topsy turvy, something jolts out at you, and you run away laughing.

Kim's onstage antics only added to the overall feel of the music. She made faces at the audience, crawled and flipped on the floor, and made her way off stage straight into the crowd.
The Lolipop records show also featured other really groovy tunes from indie psych-pop groups, Tele Novela and Cobalt Cranes
