Straight out of Brooklyn, self proclaimed "homo-pop" and "queercore" group, Aye Nako, is far from "pop". Instead, they sound more like a fuzzy, DIY, punk rock dream belching out catchy, slightly out of tune, lyrics like "and my heart on the blues or am I really that confused?"
I was initially listening to P.S. Elliot radio on Spotify when I clicked the next song and was instantly hooked on this group. The song, only 57 seconds, was "Bent Out of Shape," a hard-hitting punk rock intro with fast upbeats and a refreshingly powerful female voice.
The song is featured on the album "Are You With the Band?" a collection of female fronted pop-punk bands.
The entire album is gold, featuring some really great bands like Sourpatch, The Homewreckers and Cheeky.
