Current Obsession: Aye Nako

Straight out of Brooklyn, self proclaimed "homo-pop" and "queercore" group, Aye Nako, is far from "pop". Instead, they sound more like a fuzzy, DIY, punk rock dream belching out catchy, slightly out of tune, lyrics like "and my heart on the blues or am I really that confused?"
I was initially listening to P.S. Elliot radio on Spotify when I clicked the next song and was  instantly hooked on this group. The song, only 57 seconds, was "Bent Out of Shape," a hard-hitting punk rock intro with fast upbeats and a refreshingly powerful female voice.
The song is featured on the album "Are You With the Band?" a collection of female fronted pop-punk bands.
The entire album is gold, featuring some really great bands like Sourpatch, The Homewreckers and Cheeky

My Crown, My Glory, My Denim Vest

You know when you find that awesome denim vest at the thrift store and immediately your brain is filled with thoughts of how you can give it a make over, well this is my vest. Honestly not only a vest, it's more like my favorite item of clothing. I love it because I have completely made it my own. Wearing it makes me feel powerful. Kind of like when a biker puts on their leather jacket, this vest represents who I am and what I like. My favorite part is adding stuff to it. I have already added studs and pins but I felt like it needed more color. So I sewed on some sequin.

Gift Guide: What To Get That Weird Girl In Your Family Who Doesn't Like Anything.

Receiving a bad gift has got to be the most awkward situation to be in. Think about it, it's Christmas morning, your in the living room with your entire family, the little ones are screaming their heads off fighting over gifts, then your tia Mary hands you a shiny red box with a tag that reads " To: Adriana, From: Santa," like i'm not old enough to realize that Santa doesn't exist? I'm 24 not 6, I figured it out like a long time ago! Anyways, so you smile and politely thank your tia, you hold the gift on your lap and hope they won't make you open it on the spot, but you know that's not possible. "Open your gift mija," your tia Mary insists. Ughhh. So you open the gift, low and behold, the gift sucks. You fake a smile and say "OMG it's exactly what I wanted!" But really, you cant wait to hide it in the back of your closet, never to be seen in public again. It's not that you expected to receive something awesome like a new pair of Jeffrey Campbell's or this, but at least something that isn't lame,Right? I am not being picky, i'm just surprised that my family members thought it would be a good idea to give me a pink fluffy beanie with a playboy bunny symbol on the side? Do you even know me? So don't be a lame gift giver, and try giving that weird girl in your family something she will actually like. Trust me, I would know.

$20 or Less

$15 and Up
iTunes
iTunes gift cards are on point. If she's weird and you don't understand her it's because she probably always has her headphones on, which means she more than likely has an iPod, which also must mean she likes music and therefore she will love an iTunes gift card.

$8
Etsy
As I always say, "The weirder the better," and these nail decals may just be the perfect gift for that angsty little bitch in your family who is giving you a hard time and making you surf the web just so you can find her a gift that she wont hate. This is it right here.

$12.50
I mean come on 'Brony' or not, how could any one deny these ear buds? They are precious! I'm sure every song that plays out of these is great.

$14
I have never received a book as a gift, like EVER! Which is really surprising because apparently my family members would rather me walk around wearing a fluffy pink beanie with a playboy bunny symbol on the side than read a book. Interesting.

$20
Sure shes a little strange, but that does not mean she does not like to smell good. FYI, she likes to smell damn good. and FYI, this Versace smells damn good too.
